Plan Your Visit

When you enter the Museum, you are experiencing a visit to a building designed by Louis S. Curtiss, one of only about 35 structures that are still standing today. Museum collections and archives are housed in this former Clay County State Bank building and the adjacent Francis Hotel. Together they house our Museum, Education and Research center. New displays are created annually from over 36,000 items that depict the history of the mineral waters and the founding of Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
Volunteers are available to give tours of the historic Bank, Francis Hall, and displays. Additional times for tours and research can be arranged. Call 816-630-0101 or email emuseum101@gmail.com.
The Museum does not receive any ongoing tax funding. Entrance fees are used to help fund general operating expenses. Groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount on the entrance fee if booked in advance. To find out more about the benefits of membership, please click here.
